Upgrading to J2SE 1.4.2 with Oracle Applications 11i
To upgrade to J2SE 1.4, ensure that the E-Business Suite Release 11i environment has been upgraded to Maintenance Pack 11.5.9 or higher, or that it was created using the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11.5.9 Rapid Install. Oracle E-Business Suite Releases 11.5.10 Rapid Install installs and configures J2SE 1.4.2 during the installation.
The overall upgrade process consists of the following sections:
Section 1: Obtain and Install J2SE 1.4 on all Application Tier Nodes
Download & Install J2SE 1.4 (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html)
Section 2: Obtain Applications Interoperability Patches
BIS Patchset 3894718 (E-Business Intelligence Users only)
3594604 (TXK Rollup Patch I)
3239047 (J2SE 1.4 Consolidated Patch)
Section 2a: Obtain Other Product Interoperability Patches
3695147 - Universal Work Queue (IEU)
3199598 - Collections (IEX)
3503919 - Web Applications Desktop Integrator (BNE)
3975013 - AD Utilities Patch
Section 3: Prepare the Application Tier for Patching and Apply the patches
Stop all Application Tier Server Processes
Create the Applications File Snapshot Using AD Admin (conditional)
Apply All the above Patches
Section 4: Configure all Application Tier Nodes to Support J2SE 1.4
Execute the J2SE 1.4 Upgrade Script to Update Configurations Files

Execute the J2SE 1.4 AD Utilities Upgrade Script (conditional)

Regenerate the "appsborg2.zip" File & Product JAR Files
Restart all Application Tier Server Processes
